Gel Coat Team Member

Department: Lamination

Reports to: Gel-Coat Team Leader, Lam. Group Leader or Supervisor

This position is part of a team responsible for applying gel-coat in the manufacturing process. Team members perform various tasks, including maintaining spray equipment, hand spraying, operating robot spray, and ensuring the quality of the gel-coat process.

Key Responsibilities

1. Reads, interprets, and efficiently performs multiple operations by following work instructions, safety guidelines, and organizational policies.

a. Applies gel-coat on boat decks, hulls, and other FRP parts.

b. Uses gel-coat and catalysts.

2. Maintains equipment and minimizes downtime by cleaning tools and disposing of chemicals properly.

3. Follows established processes and does not deviate without proper written approval from management.

4. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED preferred. One or more years of assembly experience in a heavy manufacturing environment. Reading, comprehension, speaking, and writing in English at a 9th-grade equivalency level. Ability to complete written forms, read routine procedures, and correspondence.

Works in all areas of the organization. The working environment is characterized by loud noises and general production conditions. Requires physical stamina and moderate to heavy lifting (50 to 75 lbs.), with or without accommodation. Work involves walking, standing, sitting, climbing, kneeling, reaching, crouching, etc. Requires near and far vision, hearing, and talking.
