Position Overview

ProSidian is seeking a Mechanical Engineer specializing in Transportation Engineering to provide comprehensive Program and Project Management Solutions within the Transportation Sector. This role involves delivering engineering support services for various projects related to transportation initiatives, ensuring alignment with federal guidelines and objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage actively in program-related discussions, proposing innovative solutions and assisting in overcoming project challenges.
  • Conduct thorough onsite inspections and identify best practices in fleet management.
  • Demonstrate initiative and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively, ensuring timely and accurate completion of assignments.
  • Support the development of innovative solutions aimed at enhancing capacity, cost-effectiveness, and quality.
  • Evaluate design alternatives based on principles of manufacturability.
  • Assist stakeholders in producing construction bid plans, writing design reports, and preparing cost estimates.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff while reviewing their work.
  • Ensure timely responses to management requests and provide regular updates on project statuses.
  • Monitor data trends to identify issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Support operations through project monitoring and analysis of complex problems.
  • Conduct inspections during construction and rehabilitation phases, coordinating site visits as necessary.
  • Assist in grant management and provide ongoing engineering support in rail, ferry, and bus services.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders, ensuring clarity and professionalism.
Qualifications

Ideal Candidates Will Have:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience in reviewing transportation project plans for compliance with legal and federal standards.
  • Knowledge of federal transportation funding laws and regulations.
  • Experience in grant program administration and project facilitation.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in relevant software applications.
