Position Overview

ProSidian is seeking a Mechanical Engineer specializing in Transportation Engineering to provide Program and Project Management Solutions within the Transportation Sector. This role involves offering engineering support services for the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) and will focus on enhancing transportation strategies for various projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage in program-related discussions, proposing alternative solutions and assisting in overcoming challenges.
  • Conduct onsite evaluations and identify best practices in fleet management.
  • Demonstrate initiative in prioritizing and completing assignments efficiently and accurately.
  • Support the development of innovative solutions aimed at improving capacity, cost, and quality.
  • Assist in evaluating design alternatives based on principles of manufacturability.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to create construction bid plans, write design reports, and prepare cost estimates.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff, reviewing their work as necessary.
  • Ensure timely responses to requests for information and project status updates.
  • Monitor data trends to identify and resolve underlying issues.
  • Support project operations through analytical assessments and special studies.
  • Conduct inspections during construction and rehabilitation phases of projects.
  • Assist in grant management and provide ongoing engineering support in various transportation services.
Qualifications

Ideal Candidates Will Have:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience in reviewing transportation project plans for compliance with legal and environmental standards.
  • Knowledge of federal transportation funding laws and regulations.
  • Experience in grant program administration and project facilitation.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in engineering software applications.
