Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Housekeeping Operations Manager to join our team at El Cosmico. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing departmental objectives, budgets, policies, procedures, and strategies to ensure the highest level of service and quality in our housekeeping operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement departmental objectives, budgets, policies, procedures, and strategies to ensure the highest level of service and quality in housekeeping operations.
  • Demonstrate a working understanding of labor cost control through effective scheduling and proactive management.
  • Schedule housekeeping, laundry, and public space attendant hours and assign duties and responsibilities in accordance with work requirements.
  • Train and supervise housekeeping staff to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
  • Ensure all employees adhere to dress code policies for their scheduled shift.
  • Resolve customer complaints regarding housekeeping operations in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Inspect all guest rooms and ensure each passes El Cosmico's standards.
  • Implement standards and procedures to consistently conduct an accurate inventory.
  • Monitor compliance with health and fire regulations regarding lodging facilities.
  • Evaluate new products for usefulness and sustainability.
  • Arrange for equipment purchases and repairs.
  • Analyze operational problems, such as theft and wastage, and establish procedures to alleviate these problems.
  • Perform personnel actions such as hiring and firing staff, consulting with other managers as necessary.
  • Ensure staff has a complete understanding of their job requirements and sufficient training before holding them accountable for results.
  • Hold staff accountable for their job performance through regular performance evaluations and frequent room and public space inspections.
  • Maintain awareness of documentation needed and retained in employee files.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED). College Degree preferred.
  • Five (5) years related hospitality/hotel experience.
  • Ability to create documents in Excel and Word.
  • Ability to understand other computer programs (i.e. Property Management System).
  • Ability to apply concepts of math including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and algebra, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Fluency in Spanish (both spoken and written).
