Wound Care Specialist

We are currently seeking a Full-Time Wound Care Specialist (RN or LPN) to enhance our Richfield Health Center team. The Wound Care Specialist will be responsible for delivering, coordinating, and supporting the clinical aspects of care for patients requiring wound management. This role involves critically evaluating the effectiveness of patient care systems and engaging in interdisciplinary collaboration to optimize the quality, cost, and efficiency of patient care. The Wound Care Specialist serves as an expert clinical resource available around the clock.
Incentives:
Full-Time Nurse Sign-On Bonus: Upon hire, you will be eligible for a $10,000 bonus, disbursed in equal installments starting with your first paycheck and continuing every paycheck until you have completed 18 months of employment.
Qualifications:
- Active and unencumbered license to practice as a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse in the state.
- BLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred.
- ASN or BSN degree preferred.
- 1-2 years of experience in a long-term care setting preferred but not mandatory.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to assess patient needs for nursing care, education, and additional services.
- Act as a specialty consultant to physicians, nurses, physical therapists, and patients.
- Educate patients and families on wound care to facilitate recovery.
- Promote patient and family advocacy while maintaining ethical practices.
- Make recommendations for the procurement of wound care products and equipment.
- Stay informed about professional practice standards, research studies, and theories to enhance care and apply relevant findings to patient management.
- Coordinate staff development programs in accordance with federal regulations.
- Anticipate changes in nursing practice and develop programs to address these challenges.
- Serve as a role model in areas of expertise.
- Maintain and enhance personal skills in specialized areas.
- Exhibit initiative in identifying and resolving clinical issues.
- Demonstrate leadership in ensuring wound care aligns with national standards and current research.
- Adhere to internal controls.
- Conduct chart reviews for residents at low risk who have developed pressure ulcers.
- Perform weekly TAR audits to ensure completion of wound measurements and treatment adjustments within 21 days if wounds are not improving.
