Job Title: Middle School Science Teacher

Uncommon Schools Rochester Prep is seeking a highly qualified Middle School Science Teacher to join our team. As a Science Teacher, you will be responsible for teaching an interdisciplinary, NGSS-aligned curriculum to middle school students. You will develop students' practices of questioning, modeling, constructing explanations, data analysis, argumentation, and planning and conducting interactive labs.

Responsibilities:
  • Teach an interdisciplinary, NGSS-aligned curriculum that includes analysis of key areas such as climate and Earth's systems, the cosmos, matter and energy transformations, electricity and magnetism, and molecular and ecological systems.
  • Develop students' practices of questioning, modeling, constructing explanations, data analysis, argumentation, and planning and conducting interactive labs.
  • Cultivate an awareness of the interconnected nature of fields of science and our local and global community.
