Correctional Healthcare Specialist

VitalCore Health Strategies is seeking a skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our team in a correctional environment. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality medical services to inmates, working closely with healthcare professionals and security officers to ensure the best possible outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Respond to and initiate care for medical emergencies throughout the facility.
- Identify patient health problems and prescribe treatment under the direction of a physician.
- Implement medical care utilizing therapeutic regimens approved by a Physician.
- Provide education to inmate/patient, healthcare staff, and correctional staff.
- Document all healthcare contacts.
- Adhere to safety and security policies and participate in disaster drills. Follow security regulations for keys, sharps, and controlled medications.
- Delegate to and supervise other team members as appropriate.
- Adhere to Universal Precautions and other appropriate infection control practices.
- Attend training and meetings as required.
Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited college/university NP / PA program
- Must possess current licenses or certifications in the state of MA
- Experience in Correctional desired but not required
- Maintains required annual licensure and credentialing requirements for Physician Assistants / Nurse Practitioners in the healthcare unit.
