Position Summary: We are looking for an experienced Instrumentation and Controls Supervisor to oversee a dedicated team of technicians and engineers. This role is pivotal in ensuring the seamless operation and maintenance of control systems across our utility plants, while also managing instrumentation and final control elements associated with our generation equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership to the Instrumentation and Control (I&C) team, ensuring optimal performance and resource management.
  • Coordinate daily activities and schedules for the I&C team, utilizing a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for job planning and work order management.
  • Monitor and enhance team performance through goal-setting, evaluations, and professional development initiatives.
  • Deliver technical assistance to operational teams to maintain efficiency in energy and wastewater treatment processes.
  • Support control system technicians in troubleshooting instrumentation and control issues.
  • Assist in the integration of new equipment into existing control systems.
  • Develop and implement effective preventative maintenance programs to enhance equipment reliability and performance.
  • Manage procurement of materials necessary for I&C tasks and projects.
  • Identify and execute cost-effective control system enhancements to optimize operational efficiency.
  • Act as Project Manager for small-scale control system projects, ensuring timely and budget-conscious execution.
  • Oversee the maintenance of metering infrastructure to guarantee accurate billing processes.
  • Collaborate with management to establish and track team performance metrics and budgetary goals.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in engineering or a related discipline is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in instrumentation and control systems, ideally within a utility or industrial setting.
  • At least 2 years of supervisory experience in a similar environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CMMS software.
  • Familiarity with distributed control systems (DCS) and their operational requirements.
  • Experience with Emerson Ovation systems is advantageous.

  • Strong mechanical and electrical skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and lead diverse teams.
  • In-depth knowledge of industrial utility systems and equipment.
  • Understanding of relevant electrical codes and safety regulations.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical capabilities.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.

Work Environment:

This position involves a mix of office and industrial settings, requiring fieldwork in various weather conditions. Candidates should be prepared for physical demands, including climbing stairs and operating equipment.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to operate standard office equipment and navigate the industrial park environment, including potential exposure to extreme temperatures and conditions.
