About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Technician to join our team at NewMarket Corporation. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for monitoring automotive mechanical tests, recording data, and making necessary adjustments to ensure test parameters are met.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure Safety and Quality: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of safety procedures and assist in safety training activities as required.
  • Monitor and Record Data: Monitor automotive and mechanical tests, record all pertinent data, and report problems to the appropriate party.
  • Communicate Effectively: Ensure that all pertinent information is communicated to the appropriate parties, including internal customers, team members, and supervisors.
  • Perform Preventive Maintenance: Carry out standard preventive maintenance as scheduled and complete proper documentation.
  • Support Test Demands: Support all mechanical SBU's in meeting test demands and area responsibilities, including 24hr rotating shifts.
  • Participate in Training: Participate in and assist with the continuing personal and group/area training process, and may provide training/orientation to new employees.
  • Assure ISO Documentation: Assure that complete ISO documentation is maintained on all ISO or quality related activities.
  • Conduct Inspections: Conduct inspections of hazardous waste storage areas, hazardous waste pumps and lines, aboveground storage tanks, and underground storage tanks as required.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: High school graduate or equivalent combination of experience and education, with demonstrated mechanical experience or aptitude.
  • Skills and Abilities: Decision making, analysis and problem solving, communication, managing performance, project management, innovation, and test development and execution.
