Position Overview:
The Nurse Manager is responsible for ensuring quality patient care, enhancing customer satisfaction, and maintaining operational efficiency by overseeing unit activities, assessing care delivery, formulating policies, managing staff, budgeting, and ensuring effective resource utilization.
Key Responsibilities:
Quality Assurance:
- Recruit staff through a structured behavioral interview process
- Guarantee adherence to clinical standards
- Facilitate disciplinary meetings
- Maintain documentation of counseling and disciplinary actions
- Conduct performance evaluations in a timely manner
- Ensure compliance with quality metrics and core measures
- Demonstrate clinical competencies
Customer Satisfaction:
- Accountable for achieving positive patient satisfaction outcomes
- Encourage purposeful hourly rounding
- Uphold the Health First service philosophy
Resource Management:
- Ensure operational efficiency within budgetary constraints
- Oversee unit supplies and equipment management
- Adjust staffing levels based on patient census and acuity

Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
- Licensure: Valid RN license in Florida
- Certification: AHA BLS Healthcare Provider certification; specialty certification preferred
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years in acute care clinical settings
- Skills: Knowledge of TJC and Nurse Practice Act, effective communication, basic computer proficiency
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to maintain visual acuity and hand-eye coordination
- Good overall physical health
- Pass color vision testing
- Capable of standing, walking, bending, and stooping for the majority of the shift
Mental Demands:
- Exhibit strong service-oriented behavior
- Active listening and needs assessment skills
- Ability to concentrate on multiple priorities
