About the Role

D.R. Horton, Inc., a leading homebuilder in the U.S., is seeking a Corporate Stormwater Compliance Specialist to join its team. As a key member of the company's environmental compliance team, you will play a critical role in ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations related to stormwater management.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in environmental compliance, with experience in stormwater management and permitting. You will be responsible for managing and implementing national policy, practice, and procedure related to stormwater compliance, as well as supporting the National Stormwater Manager with NPDES-related permitting and enforcement concerns.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the implementation and management of the DHI Stormwater Management Strategy (SMS)
  • Collaborate with the National Stormwater Manager to review and assess region and division practices, procedures, and policies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local requirements
  • Communicate with region and division personnel to provide stormwater compliance information and ensure compliance with company policies and objectives
  • Guide and assist regions and divisions in implementing improvements to the company's stormwater processes to ensure compliance with applicable regulations
  • Oversee the implementation and management of ongoing region and division stormwater training programs
  • Examine stormwater inspections and assist with communication to regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of stormwater regulations, industry standards, and best management practices
Requirements
  • Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school
  • Three or more years of related experience
  • Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to acquire state-level certifications as necessary
  • Proficiency with MS Office and email

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize deadlines
