Work Schedule: The working hours are as follows: Monday 10AM-2PM; Tuesday 8:30AM-2PM; Wednesday 10AM-2PM; Thursday 10AM-4PM; and Friday 10AM-2PM. You will also be available to cover on-call evening shifts as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Chaplain, you will be responsible for the creation and provision of Pastoral Care to patients, their families, and ProHealth Care personnel. You will collaborate with the Pastoral Care Supervisor to address the identified spiritual and religious needs.

  • Assess, document, and maintain clinical excellence in Pastoral Care.
  • Provide spiritual and pastoral support to patients, families, and healthcare personnel as required.
  • Act as a spiritual resource across the ProHealth Care system.
  • Integrate theological and behavioral science insights into pastoral care practices.
  • Communicate effectively about the spiritual dimensions of crises faced by individuals.
  • Engage in personal faith practices and continuing education to nurture spiritual resources.
  • Collaborate with medical and nursing staff to meet patient and family needs.
  • Share information regarding spiritual concerns with the patient care team.
  • Facilitate religious or spiritual practices as requested by patients and families, respecting cultural diversity.
  • Participate in required pastoral care team meetings for operational functions.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's Degree required.
  • Completion of one unit of clinical pastoral education is necessary (equivalency may be considered).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A Master's degree in Religious Studies is preferred, along with 2-4 units of Clinical Pastoral Education (equivalency may be considered).
  • 1-3 years of experience in providing pastoral care in a healthcare setting, particularly for individuals facing life-limiting illnesses or trauma.
  • Board certification as a Chaplain by the Association of Professional Chaplains or equivalent.
  • Ordination or endorsement to practice in a ministry of Pastoral Care by a recognized religious authority.
