Job Summary:

Cut a variety of materials or composite assemblies to specified shapes on a CNC router.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate a computer numerical control router to cut parts and materials.
  • Work from oral and written instructions, setup sheets, and NC readouts.
  • Review setup sheet, secure stock to machine bed, and load specified router and drill bits.
  • Observe machine operations for proper functioning.
  • Use minimal judgment to override feed and speed using manual data input to prevent broken tools and damaged material.
  • Remove excess material and parts when operations are complete.
  • Coordinate machine operation on both tool proving and production parts under guidance of others.
  • May suggest basic changes on sequencing, feeds, and part layout.
  • Use hand tools such as wrenches, hammers, and measuring instruments such as scales and tape.
  • Responsible only for own work.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Requirements:

  • Must have a high school diploma, an equivalent certificate, or bronze level WorkKeys certification.
  • Blueprint reading.
  • Textron Aviation Blueprint certification preferred.

Working Conditions:

Somewhat disagreeable working conditions with exposure to dust, noise, heat, fumes, and liquids. Safety shoes and protective clothing may be required.
