Job Summary:
Cut a variety of materials or composite assemblies to specified shapes on a CNC router.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate a computer numerical control router to cut parts and materials.
- Work from oral and written instructions, setup sheets, and NC readouts.
- Review setup sheet, secure stock to machine bed, and load specified router and drill bits.
- Observe machine operations for proper functioning.
- Use minimal judgment to override feed and speed using manual data input to prevent broken tools and damaged material.
- Remove excess material and parts when operations are complete.
- Coordinate machine operation on both tool proving and production parts under guidance of others.
- May suggest basic changes on sequencing, feeds, and part layout.
- Use hand tools such as wrenches, hammers, and measuring instruments such as scales and tape.
- Responsible only for own work.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Requirements:
- Must have a high school diploma, an equivalent certificate, or bronze level WorkKeys certification.
- Blueprint reading.
- Textron Aviation Blueprint certification preferred.
Working Conditions:
Somewhat disagreeable working conditions with exposure to dust, noise, heat, fumes, and liquids. Safety shoes and protective clothing may be required.
