Refrigeration Technician Job Description

Gateway Industrial Power is seeking a skilled Refrigeration Technician to join our team in De Pere, WI. As a Refrigeration Technician, you will be responsible for performing mechanical repairs of refrigeration units and APUs in the shop and at customer locations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Performing mechanical repairs of refrigeration units and APUs in the shop and at customer locations
  • Performing all levels of Preventative Maintenance inspections and repairs
  • Diagnosing malfunctions and updating the customer on needed repairs
  • Identifying warranty repairs and documenting properly on the repair order
  • Keeping work areas clean and safe
  • Completing required documentation for work order files and customer billing

Desired Competencies:

  • Safety-focused individual with a strong commitment to maintaining a safe work environment
  • Team player with excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Process-oriented with the ability to handle stress under pressure
  • Motivated problem solver with a strong work ethic

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years' experience as a refrigeration tech or diesel mechanic preferred
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Department of Transportation (DOT) Technical Certification
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Able to work weekends, overtime, and on-call as scheduled or needed
  • Possess own hand tools
