Job Title: ActiveMQ Middleware Engineer

CBTS is seeking an experienced ActiveMQ Middleware Engineer to join our team in Cincinnati, OH.

Key Responsibilities:
  • ActiveMQ Component Management: Install, deploy, configure, and set up ActiveMQ components, including brokers, queues, topics, and services.
  • Lifecycle Management: Manage the lifecycle of ActiveMQ products to ensure the latest features and security fixes are in place.
  • System Monitoring and Optimization: Monitor the health and performance of ActiveMQ systems using tools like Tibco Hawk, Tivoli, or other monitoring solutions. Track metrics such as system throughput, response times, and resource utilization, and identify opportunities to optimize the environment.
  • Configuration and Load Balancing: Tune system configurations to optimize performance, including memory usage, threading, and connection settings. Configure and manage load balancing to distribute workloads across multiple servers and ensure high availability.
  • Security and Compliance: Ensure ActiveMQ systems are configured according to security best practices and industry regulations, including encryption, secure communication channels, and vulnerability management.
  • Backup and Disaster Recovery: Implement and manage backup procedures for ActiveMQ configurations, databases, and applications. Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans to ensure business continuity in case of system failures or data loss.
  • Troubleshooting and Support: Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to ActiveMQ middleware, including message delivery problems, connectivity issues, and performance bottlenecks.
Requirements:
  • Experience: Minimum of 9 years in IT and 5 years in ActiveMQ administration.
  • Technical Skills: Experience in monitoring, optimizing, and managing ActiveMQ middleware environments using relevant tools. Ability to apply integration design patterns such as message routing using multiple technologies like EMS, ActiveMQ, and BusinessEvents.
  • Desirable Skills: Experience in integrating Tibco solutions with various APIs like CA7, SAP, ActiveMQ, and external systems. Exposure to data mapping, transformation, and handling different data formats. Experience with automation tools and techniques to streamline deployment and management processes.
