About the Role

We are seeking a Resident Care Advocate to join our team at Denise Haven Homes Inc. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of vulnerable adults.

Salary: $20-$22 per hour, paid bi-weekly

Work Schedule: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday from 11pm-7am

Duties:

  • Provide personalized care and support to residents, including assistance with daily activities and personal care.
  • Assist with mobility and transfers, adhering to safety protocols.
  • Administer medication as prescribed by healthcare professionals, ensuring accurate documentation.
  • Perform light housekeeping tasks, maintaining a clean and organized environment.
  • Pprepare and serve nutritious meals, considering dietary restrictions and preferences.
  • Engage in meaningful conversations, providing companionship and emotional support.
  • Assist with cognitive stimulation for residents with dementia or memory loss.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to resident's rights.
  • Monitor and report any changes in residents' condition to healthcare professionals and the owner.

Requirements:

  • Able to provide compassionate care and support to vulnerable adults.
  • Previous experience in home care or nursing home settings, although not required.
  • Ability to maintain a clean and organized environment.
  • Knowledge of senior care principles and practices.
  • Proficient in meal preparation and dietary restrictions.
  • Familiarity with Dementia care techniques.
  • Strong caregiving skills, including patience, empathy, and compassion.
  • Understanding of resident's rights and commitment to upholding them.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to provide quality care while maintaining professionalism.
