Resident Care Specialist

Denise Haven Homes Inc, an Adult Family Home caring for 6 vulnerable adults, is seeking a Resident Care Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for providing personal care assistance to clients, including bathing, grooming, and dressing.
Estimated Salary: $20-$22 per hour
Hours: 11pm-7am, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
As a Resident Care Specialist, you will be responsible for assisting residents with daily activities, promoting their overall wellbeing, and ensuring their daily needs are met. This is a unique opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of our residents and be part of a supportive and compassionate team.
Responsibilities
- Provide personal care assistance to residents, including bathing, grooming, and dressing.
- Assist with mobility and transfers.
- Administer medication as prescribed by healthcare professionals.
- Perform light housekeeping tasks, such as cleaning and laundry.
- Prepare and serve nutritious meals for residents.
- Engage in meaningful conversations and provide companionship.
- Assist with cognitive stimulation with dementia or memory loss.
- Adhere to resident's rights and maintain confidentiality of client information.
- Monitor and report any changes in residents' condition to the appropriate healthcare professional.
Requirements
- MUST HAVE THE REQUIRED CERTIFICATES TO WORK IN AN ADULT FAMILY HOME.
- Previous experience in home care or nursing home preferred but not a deal breaker.
- Ability to maintain a clean and organized environment.
- Knowledge of senior care principles and practices.
- Proficient in meal preparation and dietary restrictions.
- Familiarity with Dementia care techniques.
- Strong caregiving skills, including patience, empathy, and compassion.
- Understanding of resident's rights and commitment and upholding them.
- Excellent communicating and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to provide quality care while maintaining professionalism.
- Knowledge of social work principles are a plus.
