Key Responsibilities:

Technical Expertise:

Demonstrate expertise in performing Diagnostic Ultrasound procedures in accordance with established protocols:

• Conduct echocardiograms and vascular assessments, adapting the examination based on findings.
• Select appropriate transducers and settings tailored to each examination.
• Assist physicians during specialized procedures such as transesophageal echocardiograms and stress tests.
• Maintain comprehensive records of all procedures and ensure proper archiving of patient examinations.

Patient Safety:

Ensure the safe and effective operation of ultrasound equipment:

• Conduct daily inspections of ultrasound machinery to confirm operational efficiency.
• Promptly report any equipment malfunctions through the designated channels.
• Adhere to patient identification protocols and procedural standards.

Departmental Duties:

Maintain a clean and organized workspace:

• Ensure examination rooms and equipment are sanitized and ready for use between patients.
• Monitor inventory levels and communicate supply needs to appropriate personnel.

Customer Care:

Provide exemplary service to patients and referring physicians:

• Prepare preliminary reports and liaise with referring physicians as necessary.
• Collaborate with team members to guarantee optimal patient care.
• Assume responsibility for the safety and comfort of all patients within the Sonography department.

Qualifications:

To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Eligibility for registry with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or the Cardiovascular Credentialing Institute.
• Certification in Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association.

Skills and Competencies:

Successful candidates will possess:

• In-depth knowledge of ultrasound physics, cardiac and vascular anatomy, and medical terminology.
• Strong manual dexterity for precise probe placement and the ability to interpret data effectively.
• Basic computer skills for data entry and the ability to prioritize tasks independently.
• National Registry as a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer/RCVT/RVT or RVS/RCS within six months of hire.

Work Schedule:

This position operates on a day shift basis.
