Position Overview:

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Deliver comprehensive patient support by adhering to established protocols and guidelines.
Welcome and prepare patients for consultations with healthcare professionals.
Accurately measure and document vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse,
respiration, height, weight, known allergies, current medications, and presenting issues.
May be tasked with drawing blood samples and preparing specimens for laboratory evaluation.
Administer prescribed medications and/or vaccinations through various methods including oral, injection, topical, rectal, ophthalmic,
and/or inhalation.
May conduct routine assessments including but not limited to EKGs.
Coordinate patient scheduling for diagnostic procedures and follow up to ensure completion.
Communicate test results and care plans to patients via phone or mail as directed by the physician.
Maintain cleanliness and sterilization of instruments and equipment; ensure patient examination rooms
are stocked, tidy, and organized; dispose of hazardous materials according to established protocols.
Document patient care plans, test results, and examination findings in the medical records as instructed
by the healthcare provider.
Refer non-standard issues, inquiries, and/or concerns to the practice manager or healthcare
provider(s).
Ensure completion of safety checklists and quality control measures as required.
Safeguard patient safety and uphold patient privacy rights.
Perform additional tasks as assigned by the practice manager, MA Lead, or as requested by healthcare
provider(s).

Essential Competencies:
The following competencies are essential for this role:
Ability to perform EKGs, draw blood, and administer injections.
Effective communication skills with both staff and patients.
Demonstrated understanding of examination, diagnostic, and treatment room protocols.
Thorough knowledge of medical terminology and abbreviations.
Exhibit sound judgment and composure, with the ability to respond appropriately in
questionable or emergency situations.
Maintain a positive and compassionate demeanor towards patients.
Proficient computer skills utilizing a medical management system.
Exhibit a strong work ethic and a high level of professionalism.

Qualifications / Certifications / Licenses (required & preferred):
High school diploma preferred.
Current and valid Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers, to be obtained within three (3) months of hire. Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter abuse training specific to the population served within three (3) months of hire.
