The position encompasses a variety of custodial and maintenance responsibilities aimed at ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform thorough cleaning, vacuuming, mopping, and disinfecting of floors, surfaces, furniture, hallways, lobbies, restrooms, stairways, and exteriors across both residential and commercial sites.
  • Manage inventory by restocking supplies and responsibly disposing of waste and recyclable materials.
  • Provide administrative assistance by delivering packages and supplies to designated areas.
  • Facilitate the movement of furniture, equipment, and supplies, utilizing hand trucks as necessary.
  • Conduct minor plumbing tasks, including clearing clogs in toilets.
  • Execute basic electrical maintenance, such as replacing light bulbs and batteries as needed.
  • Ensure all cleaning equipment, both powered and manual, is maintained in optimal working condition.
  • Enhance building security and safety by managing access, including unlocking and locking doors as required.
  • Document and report any maintenance needs observed during routine tasks.
  • Operate vehicles necessary for cleaning duties, including vans and industrial cleaning equipment.
  • Clear snow from pathways and parking areas using appropriate tools and materials.
  • Request necessary supplies and equipment for cleaning and maintenance tasks.
  • Prepare facilities for events by setting up and dismantling decorations, tables, chairs, and other equipment.
  • Apply pest control measures to prevent infestations.
  • Maintain outdoor areas by mowing lawns and trimming shrubs, ensuring a tidy landscape.
  • Exhibit a positive and professional demeanor at all times.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

Required Training/Certifications:
  • Possession of a valid driver's license with a clean driving record for the past two years.
  • Completion of defensive driving training, with the ability to operate personal and organization vehicles as needed.
Physical Requirements:
  • This role requires regular use of hands for handling objects, tools, or controls. Candidates must be capable of bending, climbing ladders, and lifting items weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • The Facility Maintenance Specialist reports directly to the Director of Facility Operations.
