Position Overview:
As a key player, you will ensure the precision and promptness of natural gas financial transactions, encompassing transportation, storage, and physical trading activities. Your insights will be vital in reporting business outcomes to management, accompanied by thorough analysis and explanations of significant deviations from forecasts. You will take initiative in troubleshooting financial discrepancies.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the monthly accounting and closing processes, ensuring all transactions for the month are recorded accurately, along with conducting account analysis and reconciliation.
  • Guaranteeing compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and organizational policies in transaction recording.
  • Validating all balance sheet items to ensure they are substantiated and justifiable.
  • Accruing transactions based on estimates and reconciling upon receipt of actual data as necessary.
  • Processing sales and purchases of natural gas for designated assets with accuracy and timeliness.
  • Managing commodity and transportation invoice payments efficiently.
  • Building strong relationships with the Commercial team and effectively communicating financial and operational results.
  • Ensuring all regulatory reporting obligations are fulfilled promptly and accurately.
  • Providing support and information for both internal and external audits.
  • Completing quarterly and annual regulatory reporting tasks.
  • Participating in system implementation and update testing.
  • Generating ongoing and ad hoc financial and management reports related to transactions and account balances.
  • Applying analytical reviews to system-generated reports to confirm accurate transaction recording.
  • Addressing and resolving inquiries from internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications:
Basic Requirements:
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Over 7 years of experience in an accounting or finance role.
- Proficient in SAP, Excel, and Outlook with minimal assistance.
- Strong organizational abilities, capable of multitasking and resolving issues efficiently.
- Demonstrates ownership of assigned responsibilities.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, fostering teamwork and collaboration.
- Detail-oriented with strong communication capabilities.
