Job Summary

Piedmont Healthcare is seeking a highly skilled Inpatient Coder to join our team. As an Inpatient Coder, you will be responsible for reviewing, analyzing, and coding hospital inpatient medical records to select and sequence the appropriate ICD-9-CM diagnosis, ICD-9-CM procedure codes, ICD-10-CM, and ICD-10-PCS codes as applicable.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and analyze hospital inpatient medical records to assign accurate ICD-9-CM, ICD-10-CM, and ICD-10-PCS codes
  • Sequence codes to ensure accurate and complete coding
  • Meet productivity and quality standards
  • Participate in coding audits and quality improvement initiatives
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • One year of coding experience required
  • One or more certifications preferred (RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCA, CCS-P, CPC, CPC-A, CPC-H)
  • Coding Certificate program (AHIMA accredited) preferred
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in coding at a multi-facility organization
  • Remote coding experience
