Employment Type: 0.9 FTE, Night Shifts

Sign-On Bonus: $7,500 for Full-Time Roles

Under the general supervision of the Sleep Lab Manager, this role ensures that the needs of patients, physicians, and staff are met effectively. Responsibilities include monitoring employee timekeeping, ensuring accurate billing for services, managing patient and staffing schedules, and assisting in the maintenance of quality data for accreditation purposes. The position also supports the Sleep Lab Manager in overseeing daily operations within both the lab and clinic settings.

Key Responsibilities

Administrative and Clerical Duties:

  • Ensure chart completeness and verify procedures.
  • Conduct acquisition and scoring of sleep studies.
  • Manage verbal and written referrals for new patients.
  • Maintain an accurate database for ongoing care management.
  • Handle record scanning, copying, and mailing of information to patients and physicians.
  • Assist with insurance verification as required.
  • Support all members of the Sleep Center and UnityPoint healthcare team.
  • Answer incoming calls and coordinate patient appointments.
  • Confirm scheduled appointments.
  • Exhibit a positive and flexible attitude to meet patient needs.
  • Maintain effective communication with providers and nursing staff.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Provide coaching and education to patients.
  • Work independently and collaboratively with colleagues.
  • Ensure proper maintenance of equipment.
  • Participate in peer chart reviews.
  • Adapt to different shifts as needed to ensure departmental efficiency.

Qualifications

Education: Registered or registry-eligible Respiratory Therapist or Neurodiagnostic Technologist with specialized training in Polysomnography.

Licenses/Certifications:

  • Valid driver's license for work-related travel.
  • CPR certification.
  • Degree in a healthcare-related field.
  • Registered Polysomnography Technologist certification.
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist certification with eligibility for SDS credential.
  • Must obtain credentialing within one year of hire or transfer.
