About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Early Childhood Pre-K Special Education Teacher to join our team at Providence Public Schools. As a Special Education Teacher, you will work collaboratively with parents, students, and general education teachers to promote student achievement and provide specially designed instruction to students with disabilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Administer district curriculum aligned with Rhode Island State Standards and provide instruction to students with disabilities in various settings.
  • Work collaboratively with general education teachers and paraprofessionals using the co-teaching model to create a least restrictive environment.
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students with disabilities within regulatory timelines.
  • Complete quarterly progress reports per RI Regulations and ensure that IEP goals are implemented.
  • Provide a supportive learning environment and maintain a positive, orderly, and academically focused classroom.
  • Develop and implement behavioral intervention plans as identified by student need.
  • Integrate technology into the instructional program and provide individual and group interventions to students.
  • Collect and administer progress monitoring data for all student goals and adhere to federal, state, and local mandates in special education.
