Responsibilities:
The Mortgage Officer will oversee the entire loan process, ensuring a seamless experience for our clients. This includes:
- Setting clear expectations and guiding clients through applications and closings.
- Collecting and evaluating essential documentation related to employment, income, assets, credit history, and debts to identify suitable mortgage financing options.
- Engaging with the community and promoting our services through active participation in local events.
Key Duties:
The ideal candidate will:
- Work with established referral accounts to originate residential mortgage loans, achieving set quality and production targets.
- Respond promptly and professionally to customer inquiries and referrals.
- Conduct thorough interviews with potential borrowers to assess financial and credit data, advising them on loan product advantages and pricing.
- Manage customer interactions throughout the loan process, ensuring effective communication with all parties involved.
- Gather necessary documentation and fees while negotiating loan terms based on risk assessments.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of lending programs, policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Explain available loan programs and assist customers in locking in rates and terms.
- Provide monthly production forecasts and collaborate with team members to enhance the sales process.
- Participate in training and internal meetings, upholding a professional image and adhering to company policies.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:
- A High School Diploma or equivalent.
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant mortgage experience with a proven track record.
- An active Mortgage Originator license through NMLS in all states where loans are originated, or the ability to obtain one within the first 90 days.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- A strong commitment to customer service.
- The ability to build positive relationships and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Independence, self-motivation, and a collaborative spirit.
- Strong analytical skills to interpret financial data.
- A solid understanding of mortgage industry practices and regulatory guidelines.
Compensation:
Salary: $250,000 per year
