Position Overview

The Senior Project Manager will be accountable for steering, overseeing, and conveying all facets of designated project(s). This includes, but is not limited to, design, strategic planning, execution, cost management, and ensuring client satisfaction. The role also encompasses the overall success of the project team members, staff utilization, and project outcomes. Initially, this position will provide remote support for ongoing baggage projects and will transition to additional baggage initiatives in various locations. Travel commitments will range from 25-75% monthly, contingent on project requirements and phases, with lighter travel during design stages and increased travel during construction phases.

Key Responsibilities

  • Foster and enhance relationships with both new and existing clients as the primary liaison for JWI.
  • Supervise and guide the project team throughout the entire project lifecycle.
  • Set project objectives, goals, procedures, and performance benchmarks in alignment with company policies and contractual obligations.
  • Facilitate effective communication as the main point of contact between clients and the organization.
  • Define project scope, budget, and timeline, negotiating as necessary to finalize specifications.
  • Review and endorse technical documents, design plans, specifications, proposals, and cost estimates.
  • Ensure project deliverables are completed on schedule, within budget, and meet quality standards.
  • Manage the approved budget and track actual expenditures to maintain budget compliance.
  • Analyze any budget overruns and ensure they are balanced by savings in other project areas, unless justified.
  • Regularly communicate project details, including plans, progress, challenges, and concerns to senior leadership.
  • Assess team adherence to the JWI Playbook and ensure consistent application of project management methodologies.
  • Effectively articulate the business value to potential clients and partners through presentations and proposals.
  • Build and sustain strong, long-lasting client relationships to support and cultivate business opportunities.
  • Engage with various industry and professional groups and networking associations.
  • Communicate with senior leadership regarding future partnerships and projects.
  • Mentor and develop team members by providing guidance, training, direction, and performance feedback in accordance with organizational policies.
  • Contribute to a workplace culture that aligns with the company's mission, vision, and core values in all interactions.
  • Perform additional duties as required or directed.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or Professional Engineer designation is advantageous.
  • 15+ years of experience in the construction sector, with a significant focus on baggage handling systems or conveyance projects in aviation or related fields.
  • Experience in business development and senior management roles.
  • Proven ability to devise and implement effective solutions that enhance process efficiency, manage project costs, and meet customer expectations.
  • Capacity to juggle multiple priorities, work under pressure, and communicate effectively within a team environment while meeting deadlines.
  • Exemplary ethical standards in exercising judgment and discretion in significant matters.
  • Demonstrated capability to lead, coach, and develop a team, including skills in negotiation and conflict resolution.
  • Advanced organizational and management capabilities.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; a persuasive communicator with strong interpersonal abilities.
