Work Schedule:
Monday to Friday, with 8.5-hour shifts scheduled between 6:30 AM and 5:30 PM, including a 30-minute unpaid lunch. On-call duties are required approximately every 6-8 weeks.
Core Responsibilities:
The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Execute a full range of sterile techniques, including the preparation of surgical trays, patient draping, and post-operative dressing assistance.
- Ensure surgical packs are properly cleaned and prepared for sterilization after each procedure, along with restocking surgical supplies.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment for patients by actively participating in the cleaning of clinical spaces, operating rooms, and medical equipment, or by guiding other personnel in environmental maintenance.
Clinical Functions:
The Specialist will assist both adult and pediatric Gastroenterologists or Surgeons in various clinical, diagnostic, therapeutic, and emergency procedures.
Act as the primary assistant to the physician during esophagogastro-duodenoscopies (EGD), colonoscopies, flexible sigmoidoscopies, and other specialized procedures.
Assist with all types of dilations and independently set up and perform Capsule Endoscopy and 24-hour pH studies.
Prepare summaries of test results and forward reports to the physician, while also coordinating with Radiology personnel for necessary imaging.
Qualifications:
- Education: Certified Nursing Assistant or Emergency Medical Technician preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 12 months in gastroenterology services (endoscopy and colonoscopy) within the last 24 months.
- Certification: None required, but certification in Nursing Assistant or Emergency Medical Technician is preferred.
- Life Support Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
- Security: Must pass a Government background check and obtain a Government security clearance.
Pay Scale:
Compensation ranges from $32.00/hr. to $40.00/hr., determined by qualifications, experience, and location.
