About the RoleThis position is responsible for providing support, education, and supervision to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a person-centered educational model. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with a team to provide a safe and nurturing environment, promoting individual choices and independence.
Key Responsibilities- Provide support and supervision to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a person-centered educational model.
- Implement daily training programs and behavior support plans to promote individual growth and development.
- Monitor leisure time, recreational, social, and activities of choice to ensure a fulfilling and engaging experience.
- Administer medications as needed and collect and record pertinent data and complete required paperwork.
- Contribute to a team environment that is supportive of individual choices, enriching, homelike, safe, and nurturing for people with disabilities.
- High school education or equivalent required.
- Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, mental health issues, or medical conditions.
- Valid Virginia driver's license required.
- Successful completion of Pre-Service training class, including completion of medication course (if applicable), CPR, First Aid, and behavior interaction procedures.
