Position Summary

The Cloud and Communications division is on the lookout for a dedicated and seasoned Principal Applications Engineer to join our team. This role presents a unique opportunity to engage with the Advanced Technology and Systems group, concentrating on pioneering solutions for datacenter power delivery. Collaborating with a diverse team of innovative professionals, the selected candidate will tackle emerging challenges in the power delivery landscape.

Key Responsibilities

  • Innovative Solutions Development: Identify and advocate for cutting-edge solutions addressing contemporary issues in datacenter power delivery.
  • Customer Engagement: Collaborate with clients to grasp the fundamental challenges and requirements within the industry.
  • Academic Collaboration: Partner with academic institutions to explore new architectures and methodologies.
  • Prototyping: Simulate and construct prototype concepts to validate new ideas.
  • Architecture Specification: Draft detailed architecture specifications for design teams to follow.

Product Definition and Development

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with various teams to create comprehensive product definitions.
  • Power Supply Topology: Propose power supply designs and features that align with customer needs.

New Product Development

  • Behavioral Simulations: Validate architectural and power solutions through simulations.
  • Software/Firmware Development: Define and develop dedicated software or firmware to interface with integrated circuits.
  • Evaluation Board Design: Create evaluation boards for both internal testing and customer assessment.
  • Benchmarking: Conduct product benchmarking and competitive analysis to ensure market relevance.
  • Experimental Verification: Execute experimental tests to identify potential issues and limitations.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a BSEE (or equivalent) with a minimum of 15 years of experience, an MSEE (or equivalent) with at least 10 years of experience, or a PhD with 7 years of relevant experience.
