About the Role

The Boston Health Care for the Homeless Program is seeking a skilled OBAT Program Staff Nurse to join our multidisciplinary team. In this vital role, you will provide expert nursing services to patients with substance use disorder.

Job Summary:
  • Provide care management, counseling, and community engagement and education to patients in the OBAT program.
  • Monitor and adjust buprenorphine and stimulant treatment medications as needed.
  • Administer injectable medications, including long-acting buprenorphine and naltrexone.
Responsibilities
  • Perform initial assessment and intake of patients, obtaining social, medical, mental health, substance abuse, and medication history.
  • Collaborate with addiction treatment teams to develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Provide ongoing management and education of patients in all phases of treatment.
  • Assess and monitor patients in withdrawal management, medication induction, stabilization, and maintenance phases of treatment.
  • Follow state and federal guidelines in providing care to patients using medication for opioid use disorder and/or withdrawal management.
Qualifications
  • Licensed registered nurse in Massachusetts required.
  • Minimum 2 years of nursing experience preferred.
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English is an asset.
  • Knowledge and experience working with people who use drugs in urban communities of color.
Compensation and Benefits

The compensation starts at $35.22 per hour and increases based on years of experience. Eligible employees receive four weeks' vacation, health insurance, 403B retirement savings plan, and employer contribution, pre-tax MBTA pass program, and yearly increases.
