Lead Garment Quality Specialist

At American Giant, we are committed to delivering high-quality garments that meet the expectations of both our brand and our customers. We are seeking a skilled FIT TECHNICIAN to join our Product Development team.
The estimated salary for this role is $80,000 - $100,000 per year, depending on experience.
Job OverviewWe are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical individual who can ensure the fit, sizing, and construction of our garments meet our company's standards and specifications. As a Fit Technician, you will work closely with designers, pattern makers, and manufacturers to create high-quality garments that meet the expectations of both our brand and our customers.
Key Responsibilities- Fit Analysis: Conduct fit sessions with live models or dress forms, analyzing garment fit, balance, and construction. Document and communicate fit issues and recommendations for improvements.
- Garment Evaluation: Review samples from initial prototype stages through to pre-production, assessing the overall quality, construction, and adherence to design specifications.
- Measurement Specifications: Develop and maintain detailed measurement specifications and grading rules for each size, ensuring consistency across all products.
- Pattern Adjustments: Work with pattern makers to adjust patterns based on fit analysis, ensuring patterns are accurate and meet fit and design requirements.
- Communication: Provide clear, concise feedback to pattern makers, internal teams, and manufacturers regarding fit corrections, construction changes, and quality improvements.
- Quality Control: Participate in quality control processes to ensure final production garments meet required fit and quality standards.
- Trend Analysis: Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in fit technology, applying this knowledge to continuously improve fit processes and standards.
To be successful as a Fit Technician at American Giant, you should have:
- A Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Textile Science, Apparel Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a fit technician, technical designer, or similar role in the garment industry.
- Proficiency in pattern making and garment construction, with familiarity with CAD software (e.g., Gerber) preferred.
- Strong attention to detail, ability to identify and address fit and construction issues.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly and effectively.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to evaluate fit and make necessary adjustments.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and interact effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Adaptability to changing priorities and the ability to work under tight deadlines.
This is a hybrid office role with occasional travel to manufacturing sites or production facilities. You may need to stand for extended periods and frequently handle garments during fit sessions.
