Job Overview
The Bay Area Air Quality Management District (BAQMD) is a regional government agency dedicated to ensuring clean air in the San Francisco Bay Area. We are seeking an experienced professional to join our team as a Senior Air Quality Specialist.

About the Job
This is a full-time, 3-year limited term position in our Meteorology and Measurement Division. The successful candidate will work closely with our technical staff to monitor air quality, forecast regional and local air quality, and conduct community-scale monitoring projects.

Key Responsibilities
* Provide lead direction and perform complex assignments in areas such as inspection, investigation, air monitoring instrument operation, and air quality planning* Develop and provide in-depth training and technical guidance to employees* Facilitate training for technical staff on quality assurance for air monitoring programs* Act as the lead for the Division's QA documentation update project and the development of forms that support the implementation of SOPs using District SharePoint tools* Conduct meetings and workshops with public and private agencies; serve on special committees and task forces* Respond to oral and written requests for technical, operational, and administrative information about Air District programs* Lead technical and safety program training for Air District staff; develop and coordinate training aids and materials* Brief Air District executives and present at public workshops and board meetings

Requirements
* Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university with major coursework in chemistry, computer science, electronics, engineering, environmental science, mathematics, meteorology, physical sciences, physics, or a closely related field* Four years of experience performing air quality inspections, installing, operating, and maintaining air monitoring and quality assessment instruments and equipment, or developing and administering air quality programs, including two years of experience equivalent to the Air District's Air Quality Specialist II* Salary range: $80,000 - $110,000 per year
