Job Title: Assistant Professor in Mechanical Engineering

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Assistant Professor in Mechanical Engineering to join our faculty at Texas State University. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in solid mechanics, establishing an externally funded research program, and participating in curriculum and program development.

Responsibilities:
  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in solid mechanics
  • Establish an externally funded research program in solid mechanics
  • Participate in curriculum and program development
  • Contribute to the growth and development of the Mechanical Engineering program
Requirements:
  • Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field
  • Academic and research background in solid mechanics
  • Research competence evidenced by publications in peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings
  • Demonstrated excellence in communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Expertise with Industry 4.0 tools and technologies
  • Postdoctoral and/or industrial experience
  • Record of teaching experience
  • Ability to work collaboratively with faculty across multiple departments and programs
