Job Summary

The Sales Associate is responsible for assisting with the daily sales of the Southern Tide retail store. This role requires providing an exceptional customer experience that drives sales and embodies the brand's positioning. The ideal candidate will be a team player who can create a sunny store atmosphere, learn and share product knowledge, and participate in store-related meetings to exceed sales and service performance goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Understand the overall concept of Southern Tide, including the lifestyle, customer, merchandise, and more.
  • Create an exceptional in-store experience consistent with company culture, building and cultivating effective relationships with customers.
  • Commit to delivering an optimistic, high-energy, team-oriented, and sunny store atmosphere.
  • Learn, reference, and share current product knowledge with customers, providing prompt recommendations and professional service to enhance their shopping experience.
  • Actively participate in all store-related meetings, working towards exceeding sales and service performance goals set by store management.
  • Maintain high standards of store appearance.
  • Provide ideas to grow and improve the business.
  • Maintain the integrity of the inventory.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • 0-1 years of retail experience.
  • Bending, stooping, kneeling required.
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Routine standing for duration of shift (up to 8 hours).
  • Ability to work varied hours and days, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Additional Requirements
  • Lift and/or move up to approximately 50 pounds frequently.
  • Bending, stooping, kneeling required - frequently.
  • Climbing ladders - occasionally.
  • Routine standing for duration of shift (up to 8 hours).
  • Ability to work varied hours and days, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Compensation and Benefits

The hourly rate for this position is $17.00/hour-$18.00/hour, based on multiple factors such as qualifications, skills, experience, geography, and state and local wage laws. Bonus and/or commission and benefits, including healthcare, retirement savings, paid time off/vacation, and product discounts, may be offered.
