Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Sign Language Interpreter to join our team at ProCare Therapy in Newport News, VA. As a Special Education Sign Language Interpreter, you will be working closely with students and staff to provide seamless communication and support.

About the Role:

This is a full-time position for the 2024/2025 school year, offering a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package. You will be responsible for interpreting in various settings, including classrooms and meetings, to ensure equal access to education for deaf and hard-of-hearing students.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality sign language interpretation services to support students' academic success
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and other staff members to develop effective communication strategies
  • Conduct regular assessments to evaluate students' progress and adjust interpretation plans accordingly

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Sign Language Interpretation or a related field (e.g., Deaf Education, Communication Disorders)
  • Minimum 1+ years of experience as a Sign Language Interpreter in a school setting
  • EIPA score of 3.5 or higher and VQAS Level 3 certification
