Job Summary:The Assistant Nurse Manager will be responsible for supporting the delivery of patient care services in a clinical unit or care delivery site. This role will be accountable for the quality of clinical services delivered, the competency and performance of the nursing staff, and designing and maintaining systems to support multidisciplinary team functioning and continuity of services.
Responsibilities:- Assist in managing and evaluating the system of care delivery and clinical services to meet clinical and service quality objectives.
- Collaborate with medical staff leadership to assess requirements for care delivery systems and plan strategies to meet clinical program objectives.
- Ensure excellence of clinical practice and patient care services, including meeting or exceeding customer requirements, improving clinical outcomes, and achieving productivity and expense reduction goals.
- Support unit-based professional practice partnerships and develop effective administrative, coordination, and communication systems.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to assess, redesign, and continually improve the effectiveness and productivity of clinical programs.
- Current license in good standing as a Registered Nurse in Maryland or a compact state.
- Preferred: Certified in area of nursing specialty.
- Basic Life Support – Health Care Provider (BLS-HCP), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications.
- Master's degree with management coursework preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of related clinical experience, if in possession of a Bachelor's Degree or higher in Nursing, or a minimum of 5 years of experience, if in possession of an Associate's Degree.
- Demonstrated ability to assess current nursing services and activities in a clinical setting and evaluate and develop corrective and clinically appropriate action plans.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective professional relationships with the healthcare team.
