Job Overview

Key Responsibilities

The Court Operations Associate will engage in a variety of essential tasks, including but not limited to:
  • Executing comprehensive court operations duties within designated units, which may encompass case management across various legal domains such as probate, traffic, criminal, civil, juvenile, and family law, utilizing advanced electronic case management systems.
  • Initiating and maintaining case records through both electronic and traditional documentation; ensuring accurate data entry regarding parties, documents, and case progress while addressing any missing information or non-compliance issues.
  • Coordinating court schedules and calendars; managing trial dates and notifying relevant parties of any changes or updates.
  • Processing payments for court-related fees and managing financial transactions related to witness fees and other court expenses.
  • Providing in-court support, including case calling, minute-taking, and managing documentation during court proceedings.
  • Leveraging technology and office equipment to fulfill job responsibilities efficiently.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a combination of education and experience that demonstrates their capability to succeed in this role:
  • A High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of one year of relevant experience in a legal, administrative, or customer service environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field such as Criminal Justice or Business Administration.
  • Experience in a legal or court environment.
  • Familiarity with court policies, procedures, and terminology.
  • Knowledge of the Minnesota Court Information System (MNCIS) and electronic filing systems.
Skills and Abilities
  • Understanding of legal terminology and court procedures.
  • Proficiency in using computers and case management software.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Capacity to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
