We are currently seeking a talented individual for the role of Overhead Transmission Project Engineer within our Transmission and Distribution Group. The selected candidate will be entrusted with the following responsibilities:
- Providing expert technical guidance and support to the overhead transmission design team on projects ranging from 69kV to 500kV.
- Mentoring and developing team members to enhance their skills and capabilities.
- Acting as the primary technical liaison for clients, ensuring clear communication and understanding of project goals.
- Implementing quality control measures to maintain high standards in project deliverables.
- Assisting in the development of proposals to secure new projects.
- Leading the coordination of project requirements and scheduling across various disciplines.
- Identifying and communicating potential technical risks associated with projects.
- Overseeing production efforts to meet project milestones effectively.
- Developing and sharing processes and tools to improve efficiency within the team and department.
- Creating and facilitating training programs for team members to enhance their professional development.
- Performing additional duties as assigned.
The ideal candidate will possess the ability to cultivate strong relationships with both internal and external clients while providing exceptional technical leadership and guidance to project teams.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an accredited institution.
- A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in transmission line design (a master's degree in a related field may substitute for one year of experience).
- Professional Engineering license (PE) is required.
- Proven ability to lead project teams effectively.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience in project scheduling and budgeting.
- Proficiency in PLS-CADD and PLS-POLE software.
- Consulting or utility experience is preferred.
