Job Overview

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Financial Controller to become a vital part of our organization at HumCap, Inc. The Financial Controller will be instrumental in maintaining the financial stability and regulatory adherence of the bank through proficient financial oversight and reporting.


Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting and Analysis:

Generate precise and timely financial documents, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, in line with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). Conduct thorough financial assessments to uncover trends, opportunities, and potential risks, providing valuable insights and recommendations to senior leadership for strategic decision-making.


Budgeting and Forecasting:

Collaborate with department leaders and senior management to formulate annual budgets and forecasts. Track performance against budgetary goals and deliver variance analyses. Implement initiatives aimed at enhancing financial performance and cost-effectiveness.


Internal Controls and Compliance:

Develop and uphold strong internal control mechanisms to protect the bank's assets and ensure adherence to applicable regulatory standards, including Federal Reserve, OCC, and FDIC guidelines. Conduct routine audits and evaluations to pinpoint areas for enhancement.


Risk Management:

Supervise risk management protocols, encompassing credit, operational, and market risks. Partner with risk management teams to execute effective risk mitigation strategies and monitor exposure levels.


Regulatory Reporting:

Prepare and submit accurate regulatory documentation to relevant authorities promptly, ensuring compliance with all reporting obligations. Stay informed of changes in regulatory frameworks and adjust reporting practices accordingly.


Team Leadership:

Lead a team of finance professionals responsible for accounting, financial reporting, and analysis. Cultivate a collaborative and high-performing work culture, offering coaching and mentorship to team members to support their professional development.


Financial Policies and Procedures:

Formulate and revise financial policies and procedures to uphold the bank's financial integrity and compliance. Ensure effective communication of these policies to relevant stakeholders and consistent adherence across the organization.


Liaison with Auditors:

Coordinate with external auditors during the annual audit process to ensure a seamless and efficient audit experience. Address audit findings and implement necessary corrective measures.


Technology and Automation:

Investigate opportunities to leverage financial technology and automation to optimize financial processes, enhance accuracy, and boost efficiency.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline (Master's degree or CPA certification preferred).
  • Proven experience as a Controller or in a senior finance role within a financial institution, ideally in a community bank environment.
  • Strong grasp of GAAP, financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting methodologies.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of banking regulations and compliance standards.
  • Exceptional analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team management capabilities.
  • Proficient in financial software and technological solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
