Overview

We are seeking a skilled Central Telemetry Monitor Technician to join our team at Lovelace Medical Center in Albuquerque, NM. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities
  • Document EKG rhythms, measurements, and changes in patient records.
  • Perform daily checks to ensure telemetry transmitter boxes are functional and accounted for.
  • Maintain constant communication with primary RN and articulate wave patterns using medical terminology.
  • Troubleshoot lead wire issues, electrode and battery changes, and proper lead placement to ensure optimal rhythm configuration on the telemetry monitor.
  • Monitor and record physiological measurements, including six-second strips as indicated by patient condition.
  • Maintain and clean equipment and supplies.
  • Assist in Code Blues, cardioversion, and reprogramming of pacemakers by running monitor strips as appropriate.
  • Notify BioMed of equipment malfunctions and problems.
  • Display knowledge of cardiac rhythms, measurement of PR, QRS, QT, ST segments, and correct lead placement.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external customers, including patients, RNs, and physicians.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Telemetry Certification or ability to obtain certification.
  • CPR/BLS certification.
  • CBO; Medical Terminology.
  • Preferred: Associates degree in related field and one year of experience in specialty area.
