Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified candidate to join our team as a Staff Engineer II. In this role, you will work on electronic engineering for Detector research and Quantum Information Science. You will develop hardware, firmware, and software to support the main projects of the lab, including Neutrino physics, Cosmology, and Quantum Information Science.

Responsibilities
  • Design and develop high-speed mixed analog and digital hardware using FPGA programming.
  • Develop firmware and software to support the main projects of the lab.
  • Collaborate with a diverse team to deliver innovative computing and engineering solutions.
  • Work on RF electronics up to 10GHz and/or quantum information science.
  • Develop instrumentation for testing, characterization, and debugging of high-speed analog and digital electronics.
  • Apply data analysis techniques and programming skills in Python and Matlab.
  • Participate in the development of digital signal processing techniques.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's in an applicable Engineering discipline from an ABET accredited institution with 6+ years of engineering experience, or a Master's or PhD in an applicable Engineering discipline, preferably electronic engineering, from an ABET accredited institution with 4+ years of engineering experience.
  • Strong knowledge of FPGA programming using AMD-Xilinx devices.
  • Experience with high-speed mixed analog and digital hardware design.
  • Strong analytical, creative, and independent problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to work collaboratively on a diverse team.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
