Position Purpose:


The individual in this role is accountable for the management, routine maintenance, and oversight of various specialized equipment and systems within a treatment facility. This includes pumps, motors, chemical preparation and dosing; physical, chemical, and biological treatment processes; as well as control and monitoring systems.


Primary Duties/Responsibilities:
Maintains operational records, completing and submitting routine and specialized reports as required.


Conducts inspections of all mechanical systems to ensure proper functionality, performing standard lubrication, adjustments, seal packing, minor maintenance, and repairs as needed.


Executes necessary field and laboratory tests to monitor and regulate facility operations, making adjustments to equipment, processes, and chemical feeders based on test results and supervisor instructions.

Operates and assists in the maintenance of water systems and treatment plants.


Ensures the operation of plants is conducted to produce safe drinking water, adhering to all relevant administrative codes, laws, regulations, standards, and permit requirements.


Implements daily operational procedures, laboratory analyses, and routine calibrations and maintenance to sustain optimal treatment processes.

Monitors all operational charts, gauges, and equipment through both manual and electronic means, including SCADA systems.

Performs routine preventative and corrective maintenance.

Contributes to the development and effectiveness of the preventative maintenance system.

Accurately documents all work activities.

Assists in the procurement, delivery, and inventory management of chemicals, laboratory reagents, materials, and supplies.

Utilizes computer systems and software as required by the position.

Maintains precise shift operating logs, records, time sheets, work orders, and other administrative documents.

Conducts operations in accordance with established standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety standards.

Maintains organized and accurate records of operations, completing and submitting routine and special reports as required.
