The Customer Service Representative will work under the supervision of the Customer Service Team Leader and Manager, Customer Service, and will have direct contact with our patient population. This role will provide excellent customer service primarily by telephone to all Evangelical Community Hospital (ECH) and Evangelical Medical Services Organization (EMSO) customers. The representative will assist customers with coverage/claims related questions and accurately interpret benefits and policy provisions for all insurance products accepted at ECH/EMSO facilities to account resolution. Conducting appropriate research and follow-up with all areas of the ECH/EMSO organizations, as needed, to provide prompt resolution of disputed claims to patient's satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
1. Provide exceptional customer service to patients and families through telephone interactions, ensuring a positive experience and resolving issues in a timely manner.
2. Interpret benefits and policy provisions for all insurance products accepted at ECH/EMSO facilities, accurately resolving customer inquiries and concerns.
3. Conduct research and follow-up with various departments to resolve disputed claims and ensure patient satisfaction.
4. Collaborate with the Customer Service Team Leader and Manager to develop and implement strategies to improve customer satisfaction and resolve issues efficiently.
Requirements
1. High School Diploma or equivalent required.
2. Two years of experience in Revenue Cycle Billing and Collections, with healthcare experience preferred.
3. Knowledge of medical terminology acquired through completion of a course or experience in a healthcare environment preferred.
4. Experience in interpreting Payer Contracts and determining accurate payments on patient accounts preferred.
5. Proficiency in MS Excel for data entry, reviewing reports, and sorting/filtering documents preferred.
