Job Summary:
The Patient Account Representative is responsible for billing assigned bills to primary and secondary insurances, verifying all edits prior to billing, and understanding insurance processes.
This position also involves follow-up and collections on insurance claims, verification of edits, denials, and billing issues, and working with insurances to get claims paid according to contracts and DRG calculations.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- One year of previous patient accounting experience preferred
- Pennsylvania state police criminal record check, child abuse history clearance, and FBI criminal history check required
Working Conditions:
- Work frequently requires prolonged sitting
- Frequent walking to various areas of the dept/hospital
- Lifting, pushing, and pulling materials up to 30lbs
- Manual and finger dexterity to operate computer & equipment
