Job Title: Transmission Team Lead - Overhead Transmission

We are seeking a highly skilled Transmission Team Lead to join our Overhead Transmission team at Kiewit Power Engineers. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading a collaborative team to understand client needs, prepare deliverables, and provide project updates.

Responsibilities:
  • Establish design criteria based on industry, company, and/or client standards.
  • Oversee creation of computer models of overhead electric transmission lines and structures in PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE and TOWER.
  • Oversee assembly of drawings, specifications, and design criteria for the procurement of tubular steel structures, lattice towers, and transmission line hardware.
  • Provide design oversight and quality reviews for complex drawing packages ensuring client and code requirements are met for the project.
  • Drive a culture of design excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Present to management, analyze PLS-CADD reports, formulate design aids, and draft reports using Microsoft 365 (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint, Power BI, and Yammer).
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • At least 5 years' experience designing and engineering transmission lines between 69kV and 345kV preferred.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) License strongly preferred.
  • Proficient in PLS-CADD, PLS-Pole; PLS TOWER experience preferred.

  • Fast-paced office environment; must be able to interact professionally with all levels of management while simultaneously manage a diversified workload and challenging situations efficiently and effectively.
  • Travel in the U.S. and internationally (5-15%).
