Job Summary: The Department of Radiation Oncology at UT Southwestern Medical Center is seeking a Medical Physicist to fill an academic faculty position within the Division of Medical Physics and Engineering. This appointment will be commensurate with academic accomplishments and experience.
Responsibilities: The ideal candidate will have a Ph.D. degree in Medical Physics or a related field and postdoctoral training, with a minimum of 5 years working experience in the field of medical physics. ABR certification is required. The successful candidate will participate in the teaching of graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and residents, and will be expected to contribute to the research activities in the Department.
Research Opportunities: The Division of Medical Physics and Engineering has a strong research program, with various federal and state agencies funding projects, including eleven active NIH R01 grants. Research projects range from small-animal irradiation, PET instrumentation, medical imaging, image-guided therapy, heavy ion therapy, and automatic treatment planning to artificial intelligence.
