Job Title: Host

At Rein's Deli, we're seeking a skilled and friendly Host to join our team. As a Host, you will be the first point of contact for our guests, setting the tone for their dining experience. Your primary responsibility will be to greet and seat guests in a welcoming and efficient manner, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience for all.

Key Responsibilities:

• Greet guests in a friendly and informative manner, making them feel welcome and valued.

• Evaluate dining areas to determine seating availability and service efficiency, making adjustments as needed to ensure optimal service.

• Rotate and coordinate the seating of sections to ensure a smooth and efficient service experience.

• Escort guests to tables, hand them menus, and ensure they have everything they need to enjoy their meal.

• Assist and direct bussing staff to clear tables and maintain a clean and tidy dining area.

• Advise and encourage bussers to maintain eye contact with the Host for clearing and seating assistance.

• Set tables with placemats, napkins, and highchairs as needed, and collect menus from drop-off points.

• Refold menus properly, sort through for ripped or stained menus, and clean menus when needed.

• Assist the cashier as needed and direct guest questions and/or complaints to the Store Supervisor.

• Check that all tables are clean and properly set, and that chairs are wiped and floors around tables are clean.

• May assist servers with drinks and take-out personnel with opening chores, and perform other related duties and assignments as requested by the Store Supervisor.

Requirements:

• Reading skills required for side work and seating chart.

• Memorization necessary for efficient service.

• Verbal skills necessary to interact with guests and co-workers.

• Computer skills helpful, will train.

• Requires cooperative attitude and teamwork.

• Requires ability to maintain a pleasant and positive disposition.

• Requires neatness and cleanliness.

• Must be able to work holidays and weekends.

• Must be 16 years or older.

• Experience helpful, will train.

Physical Requirements:

• Must reach, bend, stoop, wipe, and push.

• Balances and carries trays weighing up to 25 pounds.

• Walks with awareness and stands erect during the entire shift.

• Must be able to move quickly.

• Hazards include, but are not limited to, slipping, tripping, falls, burns, and cuts.
