About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Litigation Secretary to join our team in Danville, California. As a key member of our Real Estate Law Firm, you will provide comprehensive support to our attorneys, assisting in litigation, documentation, and legal research.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to develop their skills and advance their career in the field of law.

Estimated Salary: $55,000 - $65,000 per year

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative support to attorneys in the preparation of legal documents and correspondence.
  • Manage case files, including filing, organizing, and maintaining documents in document management systems.
  • Conduct legal research using tools such as Lexis-Nexis to support case preparation.
  • Draft legal documents including pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
  • Assist with scheduling depositions, hearings, and meetings while managing attorney calendars.
  • Prepare trial binders and assist in trial preparation as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of case progress and deadlines to ensure timely filings.
  • Communicate with clients, witnesses, and opposing counsel as directed by attorneys.
  • Utilize PCLaw for billing and timekeeping purposes.
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Litigation Secretary or in a similar role within a law firm is preferred.
  • Familiarity with real estate law is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of legal terminology and procedures related to litigation.
  • Proficient in legal drafting and document management systems.
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential for effective interaction with clients and colleagues.
  • Ability to conduct thorough legal research efficiently.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with PCLaw is a plus.
