Position Overview
The Air Delivered Weapons Systems Tester Development Department, along with the Ballistic Missile Tester Development Department, is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic R&D Electrical Engineer to become part of a dynamic and technically advanced team.
Key Responsibilities
As a member of our team, you will be involved in:
- Designing sophisticated equipment to simulate nuclear weapon delivery sequences in a controlled environment.
- Leading or collaborating with a multidisciplinary group of design engineers, systems engineers, technologists, and subject matter experts.
- Creating data-collection systems to capture various signals generated by the testing equipment.
- Defining custom cables, boards, chassis, or racks for integration.
- Troubleshooting and validating tester systems to ensure the health of the U.S. Stockpile.
- Conducting tests on weapon systems, subsystems, or components.
Salary Information
The estimated salary range for this position is $109,300 - $217,400, based on the candidate's experience and qualifications.
Qualifications Required
To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:
- An advanced degree (Master's or PhD) in Electrical Engineering or a related STEM field, along with one year of relevant experience; or a Bachelor's degree in the same fields with five years of related experience.
- Experience in analog and digital circuit design and analysis.
- Proficiency in interpreting design definition drawings.
- Familiarity with standard electrical laboratory equipment.
- An active DOE Q clearance or equivalent security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
We also value candidates with:
- An advanced degree in the relevant field with four years of experience; or a Bachelor's degree with eight years of experience.
- Experience in leading multidisciplinary teams.
- Knowledge of electronic testing and troubleshooting.
- Skills in programming and modeling.
- Understanding of electromagnetic principles and radar fundamentals.
About Our Team
Our team is recognized for its engineering capabilities in test equipment for the Stockpile Surveillance Program. We design, develop, and maintain qualified test systems to assess the safety, security, and effectiveness of the nuclear weapon stockpile.
Security Clearance
This position requires a Department of Energy (DOE) Q security clearance or an equivalent active security clearance from another U.S. government agency.
