Job Summary

The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing and directing all aspects of production at Crown Laundry. This includes managing human resources, equipment, utilities, and raw materials in the safest and most cost-efficient manner possible.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage employee resources:
    • Recruit, develop, and retain high-performing employees.
    • Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures.
    • Maintain a positive relationship with the union.
    • Develop and implement leadership and development programs.
  • Manage equipment resources:
    • Oversee plant maintenance and ensure equipment is properly maintained.
    • Ensure that maintenance is responsive to minimize downtime.
    • Manage fleet resources and ensure vehicles are properly maintained.
  • Manage Service Function:
    • Ensure the service department is aware of customer needs.
    • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of service outcomes.
    • Communicate with customers to maintain a positive relationship.
    • Resolve service issues promptly.
  • Manage Production Outcomes:
    • Review and analyze departmental results daily.
    • Make adjustments as needed to meet goals.
    • Manage inventory effectively.
    • Produce regular reports as needed.
  • Serve as a Role Model for Safety:
    • Endorse safety initiatives at all times.
    • Ensure all employees understand the importance of safety.
    • Ensure all safety training is thorough and proactive.
    • Work with the Safety Coordinator on safety and workers' compensation issues.
  • Exhibit sound financial acumen:
    • Manage the profit and loss statement monthly.
    • Explain cost variances monthly.
    • Interpret results effectively to recommend changes or enhancements.
  • Communicate effectively with the Home Office:
    • Be self-sufficient and willing to seek assistance when needed.
    • Role model an openness to assistance from the home office.
Requirements
  • At least 10 years of experience in a production leadership role, preferably in the linen industry.
  • Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of employees.
  • Good computer skills.
  • Solid analytical abilities.
  • Good financial skills.
  • Creative problem-solving abilities.
  • Consistent and temperate professional demeanor.
  • Prefer experience in a union environment.
  • Prefer prior experience managing a route force.
